The MLCPCA board is saddened by the passing of former Montana Board Chair, John Lynn. Below is the announcement made by Cyndi Reichenbach, the Executive Officer of the Department of Labor & Industry.

It is with such sadness that I write to inform you of the passing of John Lynn, Chair of the Montana Board of Social Work Examiners and Professional Counselors.

John was appointed to the board on April 5, 2005 and in addition to his duties as a board member he also served as the chair of the screening panel.  On May 24, 2013 John was appointed to his third term and was seated by Governor Bullock as the board chair.

Throughout his tenure as a board member John contributed through legislative activates, rule writing projects devoted to clinical supervision requirements, qualifications for supervisors and codes of conduct for social workers, professional counselors and marriage & family therapists.  John’s commitment to protecting the public, his personal integrity, and his innate sense of fairness made him an invaluable member of the Board; his magnetic personality, his sense of humor and his compassion for all made him a friend to so many.

His passing has left us with such sadness and an emptiness beyond words.
